My male cousin married into a family who were starting a wedding venue so they used it.
The brides family, as is traditional, paid for the wedding (and used the photos on the new website).
The grooms family paid for the champagne and supplied it. The brides family charged my Aunt and Uncle corkage.

We had 80 people at the Battersea Arts Centre (pre-fire). I've have yet to again feel the urge to buy dinner for extended family members that I don't really like.
