The BB58 looks perfect on your wrist, but you’re kind of answering your own question with “I find the larger size more pleasing”. As always - buy what you like and enjoy.

Well yeah, they have some longer lug to lug measurements and again I think it does put people off. Doesn't make sense to shrink the case dimensions but then still keep a longer lug length and Longines have reduced that with their new 37mm Spirit at 45mm, Nomos could've done better at 47.7mm.

Yeah, it kinda felt like I was convincing myself while writing the post...
Ok - I will have think on it over the weekend...

The Spirit 37mm lug to lug is around 47mm, so not too dissimilar to the NOMOS, still big for the sizes but much more wearable.

I guess, another thing to consider is that BB58 is more versatile, where the Pelagos is a proper dive watch. Which suits your lifestyle more? Or is it basically the larger size that you feel better with?
-

Versatility does come in to it for sure.
Part of my fondness for the Pelagos is that in my mind I think it a little smarter the then BB58 and so suit my attire from casual to formal.
I wear a suit maybe once, twice a year and so something that comfortable in smart casual setting.
While I really like the hits of gold, the red triangle I also feel the many colours can be a bit much. Where as the Pelagos is essentially black and white (apart from red text on the face) and this does feel a little smarter.

That watch is already on the larger end of things for you I’d say

The cut off three on the blue one ruins it. The silver faced one a few pages back is stunning though

Ive seen multiple videos who have had the watch for review saying its at 45mm, so Im not sure what to think in that sense, but if it is 45mm lug to lug its nearly 3mm shorter than the Nomos.
@magpie They do the 37mm in blue with the date window at 6'oclock, the blue shown above is the 42mm and the black is the 40mm.

My fault; that’s not the 37mm version, here’s the one with the 40mm next to it.

He says lug gap is six meters wide. A massive hole.

Fits you perfectly I'd say - the pelagos has a much longer lug to lug so may well overhang your wrists. I also think the BB58 is more versatile than the pelagos, and could more easily be worn in smarter settings. The pelagos is more of a true tool watch and (for me) more casual.
But as people have said - at the end of the day you should choose the watch you want and don't worry too much about what other people say.

Thanks DanM,
I have to say, after looking at a few reviews, I think I need to try on the Pelagos 39 and see how it feels...
arrrgggghhhhh.....!

If I do end up changing, where is the best place to sell a Tudor BB58?

Reddit. Chrono24. Both easy, but perhaps C24 is less intimidating. Or here!

I think the 39mm 58 looks a great size on you as well. When i first saw the pelagos 39 i was underwhelmed and thought it just looked really standard but after handling one and trying it on i really liked it so I'd definitely recommend trying one of those on. The new taupe bb58 might be worth a look if you find the red and gold details a bit busy on yours. Both the same price and I'm not sure why the taupe version is more expensive than our version or the blue? It might be even more expensive than that as I've only seen it on a leather or fabric strap so far. Nice though and worth a look if you can find them both locally.

The taupe/grey one is the one with a solid silver case, hence the price. That’s also why it’s only on a strap, there’s no silver bracelet.
Dear fellow horologists,
I have now owned a very lovely Tudor Black Bay 58 for a few months now and I am having some serious concerns.....
Is this watch too small for my wrist (19cm)?
Do I prefer a Pelagos?
While the 'right' size of the watch against my wrist is subjective, I do think I find it a bit too small for my liking.
I went in to my local dealer this morning to try on the Pelagos, sold the last one on Tuesday, so I tried on the 41mm Royal. I did find the larger size more pleasing.
I am pretty convinced I prefer the Pelagos...but I still find myself slightly unsure.
I will need to sell one to fund the other so there is no question of buying an additional watch.
Is there any defining advice (anecdotal or otherwise) which my fellow horologists can impart to help me decide either way?
