  • My day rate or hourly rate is negligible as it depends on the size of the job the difference between a half day gig and a 3 month is huge.

What your missing is that say you want a anything mechanical fitted, you pay trade price for all the material and the item breaks down. The 1st thing the manufacturer wants you as the tradesman to do is to go back to the job, what happens if its something I haven't done who compensating me for my time that I've lost, that's where the added mark up covers because you think you've paid the tradesman already and will be huffy about having to pay him again as you should because you've used valuable time that he won't get compensated for. These are the things alot of people dont understand because they dont look at it that way.

  • Use better quality materials/components or simply don't fuck it up when you do the job is my very frank advice to you in response to what is a very boring tale about the trials and tribulations of running a business where people rely on your care and skill when carrying out your work (and your honesty too which seems to be palpable by its absence in how you apparently operate)

  • Hahahaha. Sure thing kid.

Even the best of the best breaks down, but maybe not in your world as you are obviously daddy's best boy growing up and it was never your fault always someone else's when something happened. You also keep referencing honesty, which is kinda funny too as if someone trying to make money is dishonest. Baffling

  • I think you've come off pretty badly here. Maybe you don't mean to but quite honestly you've not employed @konastab01 to do a job so your comments/advice are not that meaningful.

Adding a bit to materials is a perfectly acceptable practice in the trades for all the reasons you've been given and more. You don't like it, fine, there are people like me who don't do it. You pays your money, you takes your choice.

If you don't understand why no one is obliged to give their hourly rate to satisfy you on a public forum you need to check yourself.
