  • This has appeared in one of the bike stands at work. Interesting set up.

  • My ebike (a Gazelle Medeo T10) came with a light wired in to its Bosch Performance Line motor. I'd like to fit a better light. Do I just buy a new light (and Bosch harness) and plug it in, or will it also need a Bosch shop to do something too?

  • At least it's got an excellent set of brakes to help with bringing all that power to a stop

  • If it's the same voltage, then nothing to do. Bosch do have a programmable line where you can enter the lighting power, but that only effects the point at which it shuts the motor off and will still allow you to finish your ride with lights on.
You probably don't need to order a new Bosch cable for the new light if you just cut the old one and splice in the new.

  • Just found this in the shed at work with a note saying “Chaley, don’t say I don’t ever give you anything” Turns out a colleague’s neighbour bought this a few years ago. Used it twice and put it in the back of their garage. Fast forward and they’ve lost the charger and the battery. So here we are.
I feel another project coming on.

  • That's good to know, thanks. I tend to top the battery up after each commute, so I don't think the shut off to keep the lights on will ever really be an issue.

Annoyingly, my current light says 6-12v, rather than a specific number, so I guess I need to dig a bit deeper.

  • You could stick a multi-meter across it. Alternatively it’s a 2 min job for a Bosch authorized dealer to plug it in and check (or change) the voltage.

  • Thanks for your advice on this. I've put a meter across the light with the light connected and on, and got 13.42v. Does that sound right? The light I'd like requires 12v exactly, not a range like some others. https://supernova-lights.com/en-en/products/mini-2-pro

  • Sounds right, the supernova should be plug and play then. I spliced my new light onto the old bosch cable and just pushed the excess cable back through the cable routing port on the frame. It saves a whole lot of effort compared to replacing the cable entirely, which would normally require removing the motor.

  • A hipster Rad Runner.

  • This is v cute. What is it?

  • why do i like this

  • I'd be careful with any of these crowdfunding in order to gain enough capital to form an order together type of deal. $7000 isn't exactly a bargain. $1400-2000 probable real sale price.
Could be super legit, but to me their website looks like same old thing we've seen time and again.

  • No interest in getting an E bike for myself, just putting it out there for the fam to trash or laud or question.

  • I bought an e-bike without a battery from a non bike person so they where not super helpful on details. Is this a shimano style battery mount? or bafang? motor is bafang

  • I've signed up for Swytch when a batch becomes available. /csb.

  • I bought a stolen e-bike

  • Yes yes yes was my concern as well, but bought from owner. Was parked in garden and ignored after battery and seat/post was stolen. Im try to get it moving again.

  • May as well just buy any new battery, they all come with mounts and they can all vary slightly.

  • I sort of figured that was the case, ok thanks for the advice ill do that

  • Any idea why there would be 3 extra wires between battery and controller? The rest all makes sense but i don't get what this does? Controller is a bafang CR S10D.350.SN but still cant find a wiring diagram to explain what these are.
