    @frank9755 SRAM batteries and chargers are surprisingly cheap compared to their D12 equivalents.

    I have no skin in his long distance game but I have seen plenty of people stuck in one gear with flat Di2 systems. I have a £40 charged spare SRAM battery in my race bag all the time.

    On ultras I can let mine run flat because I carry my charger on long events and it charges on the move. I don't need spare batteries and I don't need to charge as often as SRAM setups.

    Been there, done that!

    Not for a race but for an audax - so not quite as bad. TBF it was the first time I used it and hadn't got the hang of charging (not that it is complicated). Having to ride 275km of a 300km audax single speed has helped me remember to check ever since!

  • don't forget to change the shifter coin batteries too! (as I have done...)
