  • realized that aftee looking at the pictures

  • Looking FINE! Any pics of the massaged tubes?

  • Got my steamroller resprayed and had rear brake cable guide braze-ons added for single speeding. First time building wheels, enjoyed it! Looking forward to giving it a spin, haven’t ridden it in ages. It was the bike I had when I joined the forum, was living somewhere flatter then - hoping it will be manageable as a single speed here in Edinburgh!

  • That looks nice, this blue especially, silver and black mixed looks good here

  • Would like some more photos of this!

    Looks lovely.

  • This^

  • Thanks! Here’s a couple more from what was meant to be a quick spin round the block and turned into a 50km ride - forgotten how fun steamrollers are. I’ve been riding an LHT for the past 8 years or so - it’s great to be able to actually accelerate again! Most of the components apart from the wheels are from the first time I built this up - hence the wear on the cranks.

  • Nice build! Would be nice to add some Surly decals

  • Yeah, shame I didn't think of that sooner as would have been nice to have them under the clearcoat!

  • I love the finish on the blue paint - great build and looks like a lot of fun to ride.

  • On more steamroller

  • Hi, could anyone help me figure out correct sizing , I think I might be between a 49 and a 53 @173 but there seems to be differing preferences on sizing up/down so I’d be grateful for any advice.
    Cheers!

  • I'm the same height as you, when I had one I went with a 53, bit long, so just stuck a shorter stem on.
Best bet is find a local Surly dealer , see if they have either in store, just for a try.

  • @Karla riding a 49cm at 169cm. i guess there is wiggle room for both sizes in your case. either 49 with some spacers or 53 with short stem depending on taste and bar setup.
