• I went France - Germany - Austria - Germany - France - Belgium - France over the summer.

    Earlier in the summer I did Ely>Switzerland on the Saturday and Switzerland>Ely on the Sunday. I can confirm that 570bhp meant keeping up with the traffic was not an issue, but did result in rather too many fuel stops than felt optimal. My usual principle on long journeys like that is that if the car needs to stop for fuel before I need to stop for a wee then it's too soon.

    Fitting mega powerful massive cars with ~70L tanks is daft. A big power diesel would probably still be a very good thing for that type of work.

    Oh, far more, I'd imagine, particularly as I had three bikes on the roof for both legs of the journey.
