I may be interested and able to collect...out of interest do you have a thru axle adapter (fettled or otherwise) with it?

No thru axle adapter with it I am afraid, but they are available for £10 or so from your LBS

How do you know my LBS has that kit?!

Pure speculation on the basis that;

If you may be able to collect , then you might be in the central belt and the local bike shop will probably carry the required adaptors that would be used for high end road bikes or recent MTB's and if it does not they can get it for you or you can go to Halfords and they have them in the bike section .....

My general experience of everything I’ve ever gone in to my LBS for is “we can order it for you?”

I used to go to quite a lot of the local bike shops.... which one is yours ?

Hah - all jest aside, wheelbuilding is pretty much the only part of bike mechanics I’m not at all confident with.
I’ve successfully laced a few wheelsets, but tensioning and trueing, never had the time or patience for.
