Magnus Backstedt joining Canyon-Sram as a DS. Shame if he won't be commentating any more, one of the better ones I thought.
W52 FC Porto look like they were a fun team.

I'm not quite sure why, but the doping scene in Portuguese cycling is off the scale bad, and has been for some time.

UCI going all football and allowing up to 3 kit changes a season, instead of just one.
(Not sure how many teams will be arsed with that in reality - don't think the commercials will work for most).

Makes room for a gravel kit, I suppose.

MVDP riding the gravel worlds on his usual road bike lolz.

Also some kind of starting grid drama caused by UCI

Where are you watching this?
-
• #42959
They are gridding based on UCI points, which aren't awarded at gravel events, so all the 'gravel' pros will be at the back of the grid.

Lol

But what about the spirit of gravel?

I like how the story doing the rounds is that the big names in the US gravel scene are doing an "unofficial boycott" of the worlds as the US invented gravel and they object to the UCI trying to take it over. Definitely nothing at all to do with the men's field being stacked with pro riders at all.
On the women's side, it seems they were less worried about the competition and have turned up.

Unofficial boycott or not invited?

So who won?

I’ve no idea if Nibali has doped or not, but he’s never been sanctioned for it, nor has he been linked to any of the many investigations that have been active in Italy during his career.
So I’m not sure you can call him a cheating bastard unless you have evidence of wrongdoing.

Possibly referring to his propensity to zoom off the front of a chasing group whilst hanging off his team car

If they qualified they could go (Gran Fondo championship style rules). They did need to be accepted by USA cycling otherwise they would have to compete in their age group race not the elite so that BBC hold also be a factor. Articles do say boycott though.
