Anyone looking for a moped on here? Got a 2011 PS125 I really need rid of.

Do want.

It’s weird, the frame and chassis are in good shape, the motor is haggard. Needs pipe and shocks. It’s at least 800 in parts alone to fix it up and I could probably sell it for a grand. Doesn’t make sense to spend all that time on it.

Very true, I’d just love an old twinshock like that for green lanes, if I could find an affordable and serviceable example with road reg.
Something for playing about on the plains, rather than the technical areas.

Look for a PE or IT (yam) - they were the enduro versions with lights. The RM and YZ are quite raucously tuned.

I'm just wondering - not planning on doing it.... What's the educated opinion on unnecessary, purely aesthetic exhaust wrap, such as in the following:
-
• #22212
Don't do it. It looks shite in a very short time and traps moisture and dirt. Pointless affectation.
-
• #22213
Easiest way to ruin a bike - easier than running it without oil.

• #22214
+1 million for avoiding the exhaust wrap.
I ignored the naysayers and put some on my Virago, it looked alright...for about a week. Exhaust was totally fucked when I tried to remove it.
-
• #22215
no ones doing it. believe me. It doesn't take much to see that its useless. I was wondering if it really is a net negative.
-
• #22216
Had it on my first SV, not my choice. Couldn’t remove it, and exhaust was rusted to shit
-
• #22217
Has any motor in any industry ever had wrap as an original fitment?

I couldn’t agree more. There were never many of them in the first place. I’ve seen a few for sale around £6k which seems a lot but worth it for a good one.

I remember when Superbike magazine had the Pantah as their reference point for a proper sports bike. It was said to be one of the few bikes which could be ridden fast on a twisty British road.
This was before the time when Japanese bikes handled well. I've just been looking up what the big four offered in 80/81: the CB750K, Z650, GS850 and XJ650. ISTR the R80 G/S and R100RS were said to be faster from A to B, along with the Pantah. What else was there?
But now the Pantah's been forgotten about. The 900SS is revered, so why not the Pantah? Nobody actually bought a Ducati for another 15 years, when the 916 turned out to be vaguely sort of reliable-ish. And I doubt they'd have sold any in the UK if it hadn't been for Fast Bikes shouting in every issue that it was the only worthwhile sports bike.

Anyone have a large Infinity Motorcycles order coming up? I've got one of those "£50 off an order of £500+, only full-priced items" vouchers I won't be using...

Bled the front brake on the CBR600 as it was long overdue (hadn’t bothered since buying it at Easter). Oof. Damn thing is so keen even with original lines, I don’t even need HEL lines for now.

Any recommendations for casual looking jeans with some sort of abrasive resistance / subtle armour?
For those "popping to the shops" rides.
(I know, nothing beats leathers, but if I am popping to town, I'm not doing more than 30 on the way there, which is not dissimilar to speeds on the road bike and I'll have shorts on then)
I wear an athletic cut (decades of cycling gave me thighs, middle age gave me a larger waist)

If you can get your way to sportsbikeshop then try and order some bull-it to try on, cheapish for motorbike jeans and the fit my short stubby legs quite well. I have covec tactical slim and stealth 17. The covec are tougher and I wear them on the commute and most of the day at work unless I have meetings. The stealth are much lighter but probably closer to what your brief is. They come with a stealth armour which i find a bit flimsy out of he box so have stuck some stiffer material to the back of to make it less flexible.

I wear Oxford/Bull-it jeans with slim cut leg. The regular cut leg on my other pair is way too baggy - had to taper those to fit like the slim pair.
All the same, the jeans are very comfy and look fine with ghost armour like the D3O stealth, or similar.
Cobbled this back together - too many parts missing and engine is on its last oversize so would be too expensive to rebuild. Will get shot and find something else to muck about with, maybe an air cooled RD.
