  • Looks amazing! How tricky is the install?

  • is not tricky at all! i was amazed! all the cables and plugs are designed to fit only where they should go, cable ends are all different from each other and color coded!
    was super easy!
square tapered bottom bracket typical install, just minor attention to positioning the spacers and whatnot (video online to get it right)
cable routing is maybe the main "problem" : how to make it look good, thats it, and water protection.... i am trying to protect the cable ends somehow

  • Cheers, that's good to know.

I still reckon I might gear it down a little bit. The biggest cog at the back is 32 at the moment, and Tongsheng seem to only come with 42T on the front as standard.

  • Ive just had a tongsheng fitted. I'm pondering increasing the gear inches

  • Interesting. What’s your current set up?

  • It's a petit porteur mini cargo bought from eyebrows off here:

And then i realised the company was making an e-version:

Which was out of my budget, so I've had a Besbike conversion done.

It's heavy and i need to tweak the hidden settings a little to return a little more torque after besbike toned that down a bit during the shakedown service.

  • First ever puncture in 6 years of owning our Douze. Of course it had to be the wife who was riding it, but luckily she was only 1 mile from home with nothing onboard. Not bad going, but always do regular checks on the tyres and remove any debris etc. stuck in the treads. Look forward to seeing what caused it tonight...

  • The lovely lot at Paradise are building me up an electric mini-max. Looking to secure the recommended 'accessories' – what do people recommend for:

    1. Straps to tie down bags / Track bike when taking to the velodrome
    2. Place to get a eurobox from
    3. What to then tie said eurobox down with
  • Place to get a eurobox from

What to then tie said eurobox down with

Just wait a bit, there's something in the pipeline that should be of interest, Paradise visited not long ago, I think they've seen the prototype IIRC.

  • Consider me interested! 👀 I'll ask James about this next week – thanks!

  • Does anyone ride a Christiania Light? We just got two in at work and multiple cargo riders report they feel unstable when cornering, going up/down dropped curbs, tight turning, and when the road has camber. Two riders have tipped them over. Do we need to add ballast? Lower tyre pressures?

  • For straps just use old inner tubes from your lbs.

Eurobox can be tied down with inner tubes, or a couple of ratchet straps (bit extra)

Eurobox- I use those stacking plastic crates supermarkets use. Can also get your boxes new from Solent plastics.

  • I think I have shown it to him but regardless, it's a lightweight box with foldable sides. I tested the first prototype and it's much better than having a eurobox or equivalent on the rack. Should be out at the end of the year.

  • Looking forward to seeing this, would it work on an Omnium mini too?

  • Elasticated webbing?

  • Ninja edit... Of course innertube are great as straps, I meant for the rack itself!

  • Mini-Max / Cargo sized to start with.

  • It's a different bike which requires a bit of time to change your riding style to. We had the same problems initially but then you learn how to handle cornering, particularly with the centering of your body weight, and it's all ok.

  • I’ve ridden one. Obviously it’s a 3-wheeler so you can’t lean it round bends and when you go over a bump (or drop curb) the bike tips, which a 2-wheeler doesn’t do. If you throw it round a bend I could see how it could go over if you weren’t careful.

I didn’t like it, personally. I’m used to my long-john though. There’s two I see regularly near work, both used for kiddie drop-off and then shopping, plus my mate at work has one which was the one I rode. The mum I see riding hers absolutely canes it around, so they can be ridden hard if you put your back into it.

  • Yes, they handle terribly unless you have some decent weight in them. Also riding on roads with any camber is super weird. I rode one for some months delivering buns and would not wish to go back.

  • Ah yeah, I agree!!

  • never managed to tip one, lots of two wheel moments though

Saw someone post this on another forum, without knowing anything else about it seems like a decent budget option to me?

  • White with speckles looks nice.
