Can’t really afford a Hamilton, but the Timex look good with 100M WR and solar, will it be a watch that make me think I should have got a Khaki Mechanical?

Great news, congrats!
PS you're not fooling anybody, and now your new colleagues are wondering why you're taking pictures of your keyboard.

Lovely. Where did you get it fixed?

Guy called Richard Holmwood in Tunbridge Wells - took ages as I had to source the NOS #4000 part. The first couple I found didn’t work but I managed locate a seller with a few of them then Richard built a working circuit out of the bits 👍🏻
Donor parts bin and potential suede strap below, I’d happily take any other suggestions though

I need a local watcher repairer. How did you find his work and pricing?
Does he have a website or shop front I can go to?
-
• #67443
Scratch this, I managed to grab this Timex Expedition North Solar for £124 (£41 for three months) with discount code WELCOME20
Just about cheap enough to scratch my Hamilton itches and perfect for cycling.

His pricing is low in my opinion... he's a one man band sitting in a ticking/chiming little workshop with stuff everywhere - don't expect anything to be done quickly - the care and attention though is excellent and he is keen to show you what he is doing or needs to do, you may need to help source parts for him if he doesn't have a contact etc
He is for sure worth a go, far better than other local watchfolk who'll walk off behind a curtain and emerge with a ballpark figure of several hundred pounds but can't explain why/how or what they are going to do... that said David Carpenter were very good with my old tudor and their price was very good for a service, not so much with a Tissot or Rolex I'd taken to them...
No website but he is listed on Google
