Thanks for your thanks. Based upon observations of oak trees around Ruislip. Also, not verifiable, but this years' acorns seem to be larger, more protrusion beyond the cup, than last years'.
Well explained. I read that it isn't just trees...a lot of plants go into panic breed/survival mode if they think they are at risk of dying.
