@andos @Tenderloin who’s going to be first to try this unknown brand of taps then?
-

@chrisbmx116 I need to order mine in the next 2-3 weeks. I might just go for them, I trust my builder and he says he fits them in all bathrooms he does. Good to hear they have the @Tenderloin “feel of approval” too.

Please do keep me posted! I’m keen on them too, look nice plus have been seen in use, decent price too.

Just found out all our new windows now need to be triple glazed to meet building regs changes on the 15th of June.
@Tenderloin you might be fine, if the planning application was submitted before then the new regs don't apply. We missed it by 14 days. I guess the planet wins though, so not all bad.

do you have a link to the changes? (we had to resubmit for planning at the front of the house...)
-
• #4359
Just googling. Went from 1.6U to 1.4 IIRC. If your windows are all timber they'll probably be fine anyway.

It is linked to when your Approved Building Control Inspector informed the Local Authority that works are due to commence, and not linked to the date of your Planning Application was submitted/approved.
Normally Inspectors issue notice as soon as they are appointed to lock-in current standards so worth checking when you both appointed your Inspector and if they did this.

Hi all, does anyone have a good tip for a bathroom fitter? we are looking to get two done at the same time, one tiled, the other a tadelekt wet room (with tadelekt London) any tips for SE London (Brixton) much appreciated! apols if wrong thread

• #4363
Can’t help with a bathroom fitter I’m afraid but would be interested in your experience with tadelekt - what are prices like?
-
• #4364
Tadelakt - good luck. All the quotes we got were eye watering and installers took 0 liability :/
-
• #4365
interesting, the quotes didnt seem outrageous, 2k for the finish after it is finished as skimmed plasterboard from the builder. With the liability do you mean that the builders and the tadelkt plasterers wouldnt take responsibility? I was wondering this myself and nervous about what happens if the plumber/ builder needs to go back in/ messes it up during final installation.

That seems pretty cheap! Basically the contracts we were given from the sun-contracts said they took no liability for cracking etc and this would have to be taken by us/our contractor. Same for bathroom but also waterproofness
