My good pal is potentially keen on this for his mrs, can you send full frame measurements plz?
-
• #878
Yep I'll measure when I get home! Collection from Central London btw, I don't have a frame box (I don't think)

Perfect! Thank you. If we could get some more info on how much clearance there is too please. I think as long as seat tube is less than 52cm they will take it. And collection from central is good :-)

Me and my Dad's now 44 year old Roberts still racing today!

Had this 11 years now. Columbus SLX, Cinelli BB, Nitto bars, Ofmega pista cranks, Campag Lambda rims on Miche hubs. Paint work is a disgrace now but that only adds to its charm.

Re-upping a post i made ages ago as STILL sat on this and wondering what to do with it
I really love it but fairly impractical for normal riding
Interested to know what a rough value would be? For f&f or whole - it’s got good parts (mix of quality campag including record headset). The pink paint is fairly faded in places but actually works well almost like a fade and also means slightly less garish
I likely won’t part with it tbh but interested for thoughts

A couple of posts from the official Roberts twitter feed mentions a couple of interesting prospective bikes/frames for sale:
Probably the very last mint, unused Roberts Roughstuff frameset in medium, forest green:

A stupendously high-spec S&S-coupled Roberts tandem, 21"/19"- one of the last to leave the workshop before the business closed, used lightly for six months, then mothballed until now:

Really like that Roughstuff, I’ve just built up this older one which is a similar colour.

Bought this from Chas when I was 17, mum paid for it as I took home £42.18 a week at the time. RIP mum.
Often wondered if it was built by Winston, Aidrian or AN Other?

Please tell me you still have this frame?!

Good news first?
Yes I still have it and ride it.Bad news, I was hit by a car yesterday and now the rear triangle is 30 degrees out of alignment.
The older Gentleman that didn't see me from his car could not grasp how much this frame meant to me or how I could not replace it with another.
His wife wanted to give me £50 quid and call it quits! What an insult. -

Sorry to hear about the accident, must be a tough one to deal with. Fingers crossed it can be repaired & you get some sort of acceptable compensation, although obviously irreplaceable!

User 149708.
Post a snap so we can guess the builder. 1984 predates Adrian. So it's Winston, Geoff or Phil.

Surely Winston can sort this out for you?
Great you've been riding it all that time! -

That's after I pulled the stays over so that I could ride home. I had it repainted about 8 years ago by Colourtech in Dartford. The blue was not quite the same as the original, the downtube transfers were too small and he added a second set of bottle bosses on the downtube which were totally out of alignment.
If I knew for sure if it was Winston or Geoff that built it, that would sway me to who to approach for the repair. I believe that Winston's brother Mario does his painting.
cor, I'd love it but it's too small at 52cm :(
