2:57:57 not quite what I was dreaming of, but pleased to go sub 3 again.

Red start wave 1 was a a joke (I know this sounds like an excuse) but they let lots of fun runners off in front of us, so we were dodging people from the start and still overtaking silly constumes at tower bridge. It cleared up by about 23k but I was so exhausted from all the direction changes I decided to back off and take an enjoyable sub 3 rather than continue to be angry!

Nice! I would love to go sub 3 one day.

A million cars, same number of parakeets, couple of pedestrians, handful of bikes. Don't think I would do it again though to be honest

So many good things about this, well done!

Maybe not what you were after but a very impressive time in my eyes.
3 hours or below is my goal post knee surgery with my only current marathon time being 3:25:?? -
• #28034
My first marathon was 4:40 in 2011, second was 3:30 in 2012 and steadily chipped away at it since… I’ve not run one every year and this is the first time I’ve ever done 2 in a year!

Very interesting.
I'm back to running 3k at about 8mph every morning and that's about the sweet spot for miles per week and running speed. It's been nearly 2 years I've done that (I slacked off this summer!) and it's been great for my health and fitness.

Kilian Jornet's backed Camper Shoes new brand "Nnormal" launches today. Emphasis on renewables.
Looks as if they will be standard pricing for trail shoes these days 🙄, but being Kilian backed, I hope they'll be worth the money.
He just smashed the UTMB in a prototype pair so that is some good marketing, but he's also smashed many other races including the UTMB in other shoes so that's more about him than the shoes on his feet. -

£95 shorts!

I think the "Tomir" shoes look really good, design-wise.

5 weeks in to restarting running following rest and physio and managed to squeeze out nearly 9km last night! Very pleased.
Lesson: see a physio and don't fuck about self-diagnosing -

Good to hear. I started running again start of this year after an 18 month break. touch-wood I've only had occasional niggles, but I put it down to keeping runs off-road as much as possible and not doing back-to-back days of running. I'll do some zone 2 cycling and lots of stretching/recovery instead.

Congrats! Feels good to be back at it

For speed work eg interval sessions do you wear your fast race shoes sometimes, always or never? Is it like carbon track wheels where you don’t train on them except the week before nationals then put them on for race day!
I’ve seen some triathletes appear to warm up in softer shoes, then change shoes for the work set. -

https://maccl.co.uk/ is the league here
-

I wear different (lighter / thinner / less cushioned) shoes if I'm on the track.

Yeah, but slevless tho.

I’ve been known to run sockless and sleeveless! Maybe not for xc league though
good effort!
