It's well patched now though I'm struggling to engage
Yes it's had some big patches. I don't think it's for everyone, but I really enjoyed it. I just did the missions, side missions etc. Didn't really do any free roaming etc.

I just started CP and the one streets worth of driving in the tutorial intro is enough for me to not want to use a car again. handled like a raft and you literally can't see anything. combat felt as chaotic as fallout if you don't use vats and everyone just runs about everywhere.

recently finished steel rising.
not as souls-like as I thought and i didn't use any of the difficulty sliders. french revolution style plot was dull as dishwater and the characters are all rich aristocratic white men for the most part so may as well be the same person.
saw a note on steam saying they were nerfing grenades in a new patch on sep 29th and as that had been my main strat on the bosses I quickly rushed my way through to wrap it up by then.
I doubt I'll be back for new game plus (also in the patch).

I was enjoying CP but got distracted by something else, and when I went back to it months later it had deleted my progress. Started a new game but never got back into it.
If I'm daft/lucky enough to buy a 4090 soon that might motivate me to try again.

You basically don't have to, there's fast travel points everywhere

You can change the camera, never had a problem not seeing where going?
Once you get a decent car the driving is better. I found one out in the desert as a side job and never used a different one again.

both of those are encouraging to hear, it just felt so clunky and shit I was like "no thanks"

Aye, that's a criticism I'd heard raised. I mostly hear about CP2077 from the Witcher games community, where the most toxic section of Witcher games fandom uses it as another thing to beat CD Project Red over the head with (and also to vent steam about there being POC in the TV show - there's zero connection between these things ofc but toxic fans are toxic fans). But from the sane part of Witcher fandom I do hear people saying the story telling and characters aren't so good.

Just watching the trailer is almost enough to make me shit myself all over again.

Thought I'd try overwatch 2 as a free new launch. Wouldn't let me play without setting up 2FA on my phone... No thanks.
Also, looks like CP2077 sequel in the works, and FIVE Witcher games (over 3 studios)...

Overwatch 2 requires 2FA??? wut? Why???

Something about keeping accounts safe. I'll be honest, I didn't interigate too far, once I realised it wouldn't let me in until I'd done it, I just deleted it.

How though??
You own the xbox /ps5. Its on your account.
It sounds like they're trying to link it to a particular person.

There's a lot of complaining online about it. They'll remove it before too long.

Obviously late to the party but loving Forza 5 on my new Xbox!
Tried the paw patrol games with my 3yr old but they’re managing to be boring for me and not that fun for her small hands either… Any puzzle/party games I should try?

My daughter very much enjoys Minecraft, the sort of stuff she builds is genuinely impressive (for a 4 year old at least!)

Anyone else excited about Manor Lords?

Have a look at Rabbids: Party of Legends

Not that I've seen unfortunately!

I've just replayed it following the update. Its a brilliant game but in pure single player it gets very easy towards the final third. Even with Juliannas invading it is still very hit and miss. Lots of fun to be had in PvP if you get a decent match up.

I was one of those players who had no issues from the start (laptop). It suffered from outrageous hype and overreach that no game would live up to. That said I found the characters and missions really engaging, gameplay is great - different builds make for genuinely different ways of playing. The world design and atmosphere (and soundtrack) are amazing and honestly a long way ahead of almost any other game I've played. The world needs to be a bit more immersive (more stuff to do perhaps) but that is minor. It has some genuinely moving moments. Perhaps not on a par with RDR2 but not far off in some instances, imo. I've sunk hundreds of hours into it and its a world I still like going back to.

No Man's Sky update dropped yesterday. Bit of a rebalance, although nothing on a Blizzard scale; minmaxers and glitch exploiters had some of their toys taken away. Major meltdown among the more childish segment of the player community, death threats to Hello Games staff on Twitter and elsewhere. Also mobs of angry PC users attacking Switch users in general as if they were to blame (a Switch port also dropped yesterday), despite the changes being completely orthogonal to it and the Switch version not even having this update yet. Sheesh.
Making my way through Horizon Zero Dawn (OG) and loving it!
