It can’t be right that the only time a businessman is ever on the BBC is that they’re greedy, underpaying their staff or exploiting consumers.
Maybe stop doing that then.

The Treasury minister said the case for wealth creation had to be made more to young people, particularly “our young crusty friends sitting there flying around the world on the products of capitalism, tweeting on their phones, one of the most complex supply chains ever known to man”.
Lol what?!

And he's making the case so well ...

Not direct cuts, but not increasing budget to match with inflation? Still shit either way.

Can't be too many people left in the country who think the Tories are competent or have any integrity.

James O Brien LBC show Friday had lots of staunch Tory voters phoning in to say they were definitely voting Labour. Wide spectrum including former head of Tory youth. Worth a listen some excellent callers.

Leanne Stratford, a teacher who rooted for Truss over Sunak. She estimates that her mortgage payments could double, but doesn’t think that will stop her voting Tory again. “She has just come in,” she says of Truss. “I know she’s gone into hiding, but hopefully when she comes back out she will do something about it.”
We're so doomed, and we deserve to be.

Leanne needs to change career. Fuck me I assumed Teachers would need basic critical evaluation skills

Was it just me that thought she spent portions of the kusenberg interview looking "off camera" rather than at the interviewer, nodding and smiling when she had got one of her lines across? It's like a lapdog and a policy wonk.

Petition now over 500k (not that it will make a jot of difference), some nice sneering in the rather low rent official response

I've got no love for Jack Straw, his hands will forever be tainted by the invasion of Iraq, but there was a time when you knew that you were looking at intelligent politicians being interviewed.
I'd even say that there was a time when cabinet politicians risked coming across as too smart and therefore be seen as aloof. Had to throw in the odd John Prescott for good measure.
It's basically the plot of the Young Offenders movie.
