I've had etap for a while now (gen1) and I like it a lot. But I was used to mechanical red beforehand so maybe a little biased. It doesn't shift as nice as di2 dura ace, but good enough for me. FD makes a nice sound when shifting and the lack of cables, finetuning while in the saddle, batt life and low weight are in my eyes the features that come to mind if I had to sell it to you. Oh and WvA did many CX on it, so sort of bomb proof.

For me:
- Slow RD shift, no confidence in FD at all during effort, with lag after pressing buttons
- Loud drivetrain (and I’m meticulous about keeping bikes clean)
- Poor hood shape
- Aerolink brakes…
The good things:
Ease of setup, weight, easy to charge
I ended up stripping and selling after 6 months or so. Got a 9000 mechanical group and didn’t look back. Best bike has EPS, though this has its own issues too!
My job requires me to work on top level stuff frequently.. and although I am Campagnolo through and through, I think the best current for performance, value for money, set up, user friendliness (and so on) has to be 12s Ultegra - Slow RD shift, no confidence in FD at all during effort, with lag after pressing buttons
(My current Dogma F hands down rides the best. Followed closely by the red F10. Leagues above the others ).
Both F12’s, heavy, too stiff
Dogma 65.1, not fast on the flat
Paris, good winter whip. Etap was rubbish
