Not a common one… buuut..!
Right size. Right location. Terrible paint. But being an old roadie, he’ll no doubt know BJ

How's his mobility otherwise? Balance issues can create difficulties getting on and off cycles with traditional diamond frames.

Could be worth talking to Richard Hallet (a framebuilder) only because he recently re-built a trike of his so I know he's into them, might know of a good lightweight trike going somewhere.

We might have something available soon in the shop I work in, only over in Manchester too. It's a re-donation of a trike that was awarded out to someone by the charity but they no longer have a use for it. Will PM you with some more details next week once I've collected it

There is a racing tricycle forum https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/on3wheels/
The older blokes on there discuss all of the eBay, etc. trikes that are up for sale. There are also racing trikes advertised in Tricycle Association journal that are often priced ‘for a good home’. His height means that he will have much more choice of SH trikes than I did.
Riding a racing trike isn’t necessarily easy. The ingrained reflexes of a bike rider are exactly opposite those needed to ride a trike. A gentle test ride in an empty car park and an expectation of an adaption period would be sensible. It took me quite a while before I felt comfortable riding my trike.

this guy is selling lots of tricycle oddities.
My father in law was semi pro cyclist in the 1990s but had a stroke in his 50s and has as a result lost his balance. He has recovered everything else really well and even got back into running gently so hadn't been missing the bike too much. The arrival of grandkids, however, has made him want to get wheeled again as they are outpacing him on their balance bikes. Anyone got any suggestions for new or second hand options for something appropriate? He's about 5'5" - based in West Yorkshire.
