You still got the CAAD @getoutofbed ?

Can it be true HHSRB if there is more than 5mm of steerer above the stem?
Suggests a high probability it is photographed as slammed for the repz, but not actually ridden like that.

• #11156
Intersting thank you. Always thought the f10 looks the nicest of the recent ones.
-
• #11157
Lots of people keep 5mm above their stem as a little buffer, so the stem is clamping the steerer completely. I was always told to leave a little bit of steerer above the stem
-
• #11158
Correct - that's why I said more than 5mm.

Fair point, didn't spot that!

That's the least of its issues

Proper length cable for optimal shifting.
Good rat bike, like it a lot. -

I have that exact same seat post/saddle combo and it's insanely light for the price. All hail aliexpress
-
• #11168
Which saddle is it? All the cheapish ones I could find on Ali looked super rough. Admittedly I didn't look super hard though

This one:
https://a.aliexpress.com/_EHESbZHHad one on my road bike, which was bullet proof for c.8000km, did LEJOG with a heavy bike packing bag strapped to it the whole way as well. Never had an issue with slipping/creaking/cracking etc., And found it plenty comfortable, granted there was a 200km bedding in period.
I bought another for my commuter, accidentally caught the rear lip on my bag and broke one of the rails from where it's bonded to the saddle itself. Seems like an issue with the glue more than anything.
So 1:1 success/failure ratio so far. If it's any consolation, I'll be buying one for my new bike as well. Only weighs about 110g .

What is the post?
-
• #11171
Just a generic eBay/aliexpress one. You can find them for about 25£ or so. Again, no issues with my post at all, and weighed next to nothing. It had a good bit of flex in it, so plenty comfortable bumpy ground, but didn't snap or shift down in the frame at all.

• #11172
What do we think the frame is? And what have they done to it? Sanded? Rough spray? Primer? Either way I like it
