  • We've seen a mouse a couple of times (about once a month) but absolutely no other sign of them.

Put some traps under the cabinets in the kitchen and forgot about them until the other day when there was a load of squeaking coming from there.

Turned out a mouse had been caught by the leg. I took it outside thinking I'd have to whack it with a shovel to put it out of its misery. Turns out it was a lot more mobile than I thought and legged it as I chased it with a spade.

As it turned out though the local fox succeeded where I failed and snacked on the lame mouse later in the evening.

  • It’s a gruesome business.

If you catch one in a trap and it’s still alive, drop it into a bucket of water, it’s all over in a couple of seconds.

  • They're useful for keeping rodent populations down are foxes, and they'll work for free, unlike the pest controllers.
