Yes!

I had an idea about a ceramic pipe shaped a bit like a mitochondria so the smoke had some travel time. The idea being to keep it in a fridge so it was cool.

Sounds a bit like a pottery version of the budbomb

I’ve been doing a lot of drawing in procreate recently (since getting a fancy iPad Pro and apple pencil) and have been really enjoying how much easier it is to just pick up and draw compared to using my desktop Mac + cintiq. I’ve also been enjoying watching the Timelapses. Makes me realise how indecisive I am and also how little I plan stuff, tending to just make details up as I go.

First quick sketch for something new (60x85 cm). Got my inspiration in my favorite bar.

Been posting my stuff in the sign writing/ gilding thread for a while but this piece feels less lettering and mechanical, a bit more “art”.

It’s an 9 layer Screen Print, reverse printed onto 6mm float glass. With 23ct yellow and 18ct green gold, water gilded. CMYK printed renaissance paintings at 65lpi halftones and a section of 1922 “land hemisphere” map.

It’s all laid out and collaged together digitally then produced into the physical piece. I have never really done stuff like this and it feels like “cheating” art. Always feel unless every think I make was drawn from scratch it doesn’t really count, but who knows.
