Is there more to Sandman than what i watched/fell asleep to in the first episode or does it get better? Tried again last night with episode 2 but only lasted 5 minutes before exclaiming fuck you harry potter and turning it off.

I loved it - and have no previous connection to the book(s). You definitely need to be open to fantasy, but some of the episodes are genuinely little masterpieces. The first ep is definitely scene-setting, can't remember number 2 specifically but would recommend persevering.
