• Yeah i paid £365 a couple of years ago and the cheapest Garmin was a couple of hundred more. I have the coller and hand held receiver. Battery life is great and no subscriptions to run via an app. Mine has been faultless in regular use.

  • Okay thanks. I might look for 2nd hand one. Really I need something he can wear most of the time as he's developed a habit of going for a walk himself. I let him out the house when I'm in the out building and he just trots about but last week went on a 3h expedition and the same a few weeks before. I don't really mind, just want to know where he is.

    Does that handheld give you a location or just point you to their location? If you're busy just tell me to Google it!

  • Handheld is arrow and direction but can get map location on the app to run along side it. I use the handheld mostly because having the live tracking running on the app drains my phone battery in 3-4 hours but the handheld lasts days
