  • that's poor work, but ask him why he did that.
    There are new regulations with the material one is able to use for overflow. the water is very acidic and goes through copper after a while. so they introduced flexible plastic, which are or were in short supply, something like that. He should be able to explain, and if he doesn't, that should be looked at by someone else.

  • With one being the condensate, and the other a safety, is that even allowed?

    Depending where it goes, might even need an air gap.

    Top notch tape usage though.

  • As well as the utterly shit overflow which WILL cause you a problem in the future when the silicone fails you should also query why no heat sheilding was used when soldering the joints. You may be about to redecorate but they shouldn't be leaving huge scorch marks on the wall like that.

    If this person is on the gas safe register, which they absolutely should be if they are doing boiler work, you might want to consider reporting their work to them?
