I think Al Jazeera is useful to have as an alternative voice to a lot of western press, it's generally considered to have high reporting standards and is funded a bit like channel 4 I think so should be somewhat independent of the Qatar government, but we've seen how ours tries to push channel 4 around. It's also regarded to have it's own biases, especially around Israel and Shia Muslims, so worth being aware of that if their output crosses into those subjects.
