I'd say you need to figure out whether you do want / need a laptop or rather a stay-at-home computer.
These days, Windows or Mac both works equally well (unless you really need to do very niche things), so it's more about what your personal preference is, and whether you're already in the apple eco-system or not (read: if you want to get an iPhone it will be nice to also get a Mac).
You will be aware already that the apple stuff is usually more expensive - but also nicer 🙂 -

I have one, they are great particularly with the new chips. You miss the portability vs a laptop it's true. An Air might be an option.

Hello, forgive me if this is a bit lazy but I thought I'd ask here as I'm going in circles.
I'm due a new phone and computer and wondering wether to go Apple or Android.
I've always had old Macs and am currently on Android phone.
I'll maybe have a grand to chuck at the pair. Maybe more. Maybe.
I've been put off by apparently apple changing their intel or whatever meaning everything will become immediately obsolete. Not sure if that's right tho, this kind of thing isn't my thing. If I'm going to drop a grand I'd rather it last at least a little while.
Should probably mention I'd like to use it for video editing and Photoshop/ design.
Am attracted to the Mac mini as I already have a screen and keyboard and hear good things, particularly on the latest one.
However it's tempting to get a pc laptop that I'd feel less precious about carrying around although this isn't that important.
Was originally thinking another iMac but are they on the way out?
