  • A bit shit? Understatement.

  • You didn't even know what it was 20mins ago, you spare-wheeled fraudster.

  • Based on the image up there, I made a judgement.

  • You should at least try it on the rim once. You might like it.

  • Pretty sure the answer is no but does anyone make a front wheel stand, like below? That isn't really expensive. Curiously looking for something neater than a wheel for a dead frame turn turbo bike.

  • Is this a joke about bum sex? It's not quite clear what you're trying to say.

  • Shock horror, how could you!?! Mmmm Minoura

  • I made a front wheel stand, does that count?

Cost was about £70 for the aluminium bits and £15 for the fork mount. It's probably over-engineered (I am not an engineer) but figured dentistry would likely be much more expensive.

Am sure you could do similar cheaper in a more DIY fashion, basically just need something solid and stable under the fork mount.

  • This is the inspiration I needed, perfect!

  • If it's any use here's a list of the bits. Ordered from KJN

  • I have a Cycleops Hammer Turbo trainer that I'm not going to be able to use since moving, anyone want it on here before I throw it on the bay? £180 and if you are within reasonable cycling distance from Walthamstow I'll deliver.

  • Looking at turbo mats - is there any real benefit over a (much cheaper) yoga mat or similar?

  • I’m using an old karrimat so far so I’d say not. Just unboxed and built my jet black volt and if the zwift trainer enhances this product it’ll be great.
All my fears of being lost in an annoying world of technology that wouldn’t pair were not realised. Super easy set up.
Unfortunately I opened the beer52 box at the same time so not much riding was done today

  • I don't think so, but get the thickest/heaviest/widest you can.

Portable yoga mats tend to be lacking in at least one of these

  • I would just get a cheap foam camping mat from somewhere like Decathlon - less than a fiver

  • I’ve got a square of heavy foam( for damping washing machine noise).
I’m not using it, because getting the machine out and under the worktop is impossible.
    If you’re near se26 it’s freely available

  • Mostly avoid anything that's even the tiniest bit absorbent

    You horrible sweaty bunch

  • Looking to try and do a bit of indoor work through winter and might look to upgrade my fluid “dumb” trainer for something with erg mode. Not really interested in zwift fake world riding but mostly would be on wahoo systm I think. Might give RGT a try.

Any recommendations for something cheapest, not too loud, decent turbo trainer that will connect to apps without being an investment? Bonus points if often available second hand. Doesn’t need to have the most realistic “road feel”, simulate 20% climbs or withstand 1000w+ sprints, just be decent and talk to the apps.

Fact I’ve struggled to get into turbo sessions in the past means I don’t want to spend too much and commit £200+ unless I really do end up getting into it.

  • I still have a spare Computrainer sitting around that works with legacy Trainerroad and worked with Zwift to a point until the laptop I used with it gave up. Wheel on, so you get to burn through all those old 23mm tyres you have a in box. Obviously no one on here likes them because everyone on here is a buyer and thinks Zwifting is racing, but if you're on a budget and can find one, they do the job.

  • Any recommendations for an iPad stand for a wheel-off trainer (Kickr Core). And not one that costs €€€€€ like the Wahoo one.

  • Decathlon sell something that attaches to the bars for £30.

Ended up taking a punt on the LifeLine Trainer Table for £50 from wiggle but may regret, as will take up way more space than the above!

  • Oooh, thanks both, looks like just what I need.

  • Long shot but anyone got a thru axle adapter for a tacx flux/neo? They came free with neo, but I have a flux and a new one is £60

    One of these: https://www.sigmasports.com/item/Tacx/Axle-Adapter-Kit-for-Flux-and-Neo-Trainers/UIMX
