Bromptons often have a cateye volt (?) rechargeable front light mounted at the fork, so imagine it’d be ok. There are different mounts, some definitely more sturdy than others! The twin wire ones that come with dynamos bounce a bit, but the supernova solid metal ones are solid I’ve found.

Just brought an Exposure Sirius and I'm delighted to say it is very good.
I went out at 6am yesterday and could see the country road surface in front of me and I was confident other vehicles could easily see me too.
I coupled this with the Exposure flash on pulse mode upfront and a static and a flashing rear light combo.

I like how my strada tells me i am good for 12 hours!

Looking for a new main light for some longer rides/races next year. Namely Bohemian Border Bash Race, West Carpathian Challenge and some two day gravelevents here in Germany.
Is the Exposure Strada still the go-to option if Roads are involved?
Mainly looking for a long lasting light on medium settings, not max brightness.
For single trails, a headlight will be added.Any other suggestions?

I've not got to grips with the settings yet, I generally just stick it on max static for a 3h morning ride...and charge before every ride.
Is there a recommended brightness / settings I should be considering or is it each to their own?

Any other suggestions?
I use an Exposure Joystick, smaller, lighter, still has great battery and really good beam.
My only criticism is I wish it was USB C so I didn't have to bring a specific cable on longer tours.

Have an older model but mine is set on a lower brightness mode. Tend to run it on low which gives 36 hours. As it's mounted under a garmin out of reach, I use the trigger and tape it to the hoods to turn it up when needed.
Max would, IMO, be a bit much for the city and places on my commute like Richmond park to avoid blinding oncoming riders.

I see!
The only other road users I encounter are a few cars and the odd deer.
My training route is out in country lanes so the more I can see in the dark and misty mornings the better.
I have had a car put their beams on at me and I wonder if this is because of the max setting...

Any suggestions for a rear commuting light with a clip to attach to my Carradice? USB rechargeable (ideally USB C) with decent battery life. Not looking to spend loads but would rather have something that lasts.

rear commuting light with a clip
I have had a Moon Nebula on mine for ages, works well. Charging cable is a weird yellow power-only mini USB.

Lezyne Zecto 80 - really bright, had mine for years.

Are there different versions of these? I'm sure I've messed about with something that looks very similar that was a bit shit and cheap seeming! I'm not sure about the mount either. I'm sure it works well on a seatpost but I reckon the light would flop down if attached to a Carradice loop.
@aglet - that looks decent actually. I've had various Moon lights over the years and they've all seemed good value for money.
Open to any other suggestions though!

I’m really liking Ravemen lights at the moment. I have their 1000 and 1200 lights on two different bikes. Both great in town and in the lanes at night. Cr1000 is more aesthetically pleasing to look at and has long battery life.

And is comparable to the exposure Diablo I have (maybe even a bit better)

Cateye do a wearable light with a clip, two versions one battery, tother USB rechargeable.

Realised my Fenix BC23 has been in operation since 2016, which seems like decent mileage for a light. I haven't had to replace the battery yet either (which should be straightforward when the time comes)

My tiny Fenix E01 died and "Unfortunately the LED is hard wired into the head and cannot be removed." so I'm wary of their stuff.
My Exposure MaxxD Mk3 was bought second hand in 2014 so is probably 10+ years old is still going strong.

The Chinese brands are finally starting to introduce shaped light beams. I got 2 models from Gaciron to try out, V6C-400 and Mars 800. I haven't tried them at night yet but the beams are
definitely shaped with the proper cut off. The V6C throws all the lights into a focused spot and the Mars has more falloff on the bottom for the near field.

Styling has gone back to the 80s with the 'D-size battery' look though!

I have attached it to a Moulton so the lantern look fits quite well.

What's the option for reducing the overall height (top of Garmin to bottom of light) as far as possible?
Sorry I'm way late to this, but I just put a standard Garmin mount on the top of the Sirius which feels pretty snug. I think all the included Garmin out front mounts have the reverse connecter on the bottom these days which allows this..? I dunno, maybe fancier mounts are slimmer but I've never felt the need to find out - and the super-quick removal/replace is an added bonus. I have even mounted Hope Visions and Tracers like this..*
*deviants who like their Garmins pointed skywards may be less pleased with this (but you can just Gorilla tape the back of the light to get some tilt)

Interesting. I wonder if I might try this with the MTB. I'd need to find a proper Garmin mount with the reverse thingie first but it might be better than the helmet light bar mount straps that I can never get to stay on.

I want to put a light, exposure diablo, and instead of being on the centre of the swept back bars, I'd like it to be where the brake levers are. I'm sure there's a mount that's twistable/rotated to allow this.
WHERE?
Apologies if this has been answered before (couldn't find anything when I searched), but has anyone had experience of using a fork crown mount with a bigger rechargeable type light? Looking to use one of the GoPro adapters on my Lezyne MegaDrive and stick it above the front wheel.
I guess it'll be a bit annoying having to unbolt to charge, but does anyone know if there are any things to watch out for? Will the light be too heavy?
Just trying to clear some room on the handlebars.
