I had a similar prob. Apple sorted it but it took a while - a couple of weeks I think. You need to contact Apple directly. We didn’t visit their shop - just phoned. It is a nightmare.

So, after taking the latest iOS update, my phone decided to back to factory settings. I can't get everything back (apps, phonebook) because facial recognition has reset and I can't remember the password. They can send texts to my emergency number, which is a phone I haven't had for 5 years.
Now everything is lost in the cloud. The messages I'm getting from Apple are telling me that will allow me to reset my account in 14 days. This isn't really feasible. Do I have any other options other than going to an Apple store and getting them to help?
