  • And sometimes it gets a bit "game of thrones" where you've had 8 series of slowly built storylines from all over the place and suddenly only a few more episodes to finish off all of them once they've found out it's the final series.

  • I'm half way into series 1. Lots to enjoy about his manner and delivery, the subject matter and the city footage. Is any of it staged though? Seems they've captured an amazing number of significant events.

  • I'm not sure about staged, having been to New York it is pretty much like that but he does seem to gain access to things quite easily. I'm impressed by the rat count. I think it's in series 2 but the one about finding a parking spot is insane.

  • I suppose suggesting staged is a disservice. More than one person? I didn't read anywhere if it's all his own footage as it appears through the narrative, or actually more than one person's material. Yeah, car shuffling is unbelievably nuts.

  • Searched but not mentioned before..
The Capture on the beeb (just smashed the 2 series on iplayer) was fun. London based deep fakes and conspiracy

  • And he has has that suuuuuweeeeeet Volvo 240 sedan

  • Yeah I've just watched a few of these and really enjoying them as well. His delivery is great and some of the footage selections are exceptional.

  • Enjoying the latest episodes of Industry (season 2 is now airing on HBO in the US) helped by the fact that the series is set in London

  • Handmaid's Tale season 5!

  • Mr. Robot

    Da fuck what's going on
    Compelling viewing

  • Has anyone watched the new grand tour? I enjoyed it but can’t help feeling it’s lost it’s spark now

  • Is there more to Sandman than what i watched/fell asleep to in the first episode or does it get better? Tried again last night with episode 2 but only lasted 5 minutes before exclaiming fuck you harry potter and turning it off.

  • I loved it - and have no previous connection to the book(s). You definitely need to be open to fantasy, but some of the episodes are genuinely little masterpieces. The first ep is definitely scene-setting, can't remember number 2 specifically but would recommend persevering.

  • I've recently discovered The War of the Worlds which is not, as the title suggests, about the daily drama of life in a rural Garden Centre but actually about an alien invasion. It's made by Canal+ so some of the characters talk funny though there are words at the bottom of the screen so normal people can keep up. It's not bad, started well but I'm on episode 5 of the first series and it's beginning to wobble. And I do like it being a European alien invasion with no reference at all to the US. I've a feeling it will run in to the usual 'how is everyone still manging to wash their hair and look so healthy' problem of many post-apocalypse pieces.

  • I regret to say that by the start of Season 2, War of the Worlds has become risible. On the upside, 6 months in to an alien invasion everyone's hair is neatly trimmed, no one's grown a beard and all the clothes are clean. So, the situation could be worse.

  • S1 was set in London? The last one I've seen in S2 was partly NY and partly some country hotel. Not enjoying this series as much, seems not as stylised, too much reliance on sex scenes and a less furious Eric Tao.

  • Watching 'Am I Being Unreasonable?' the Daisy May Cooper piece on BBC.
Thought it would be a laugh, turns out it is pretty sinister.
    Well worth a watch.

  • I'm 4 in, really good so far.

  • Ended up doing the whole series in an evening.
Very not what I was expecting.
Only 6, sub 30nin episodes, so not a massive commitment.

  • I saw that Gabriel Byrne being apprehended by plucky armed survivors outside London's famous Tate Britain, a couple of years back. He did look slightly disheveled in my opinion. My Mum was quite annoyed to have missed him.

  • Smashed it over a couple of days, not what I expected, but very enjoyable.

I am regurgitating what my wife said here, but she likened it to that Billie Piper series, and how it's positive that over the last few years we can have more female leads that can be well acted but not really "nice" characters.

  • partly NY

Actually... it was London too. Bloomberg HQ I think.

Rishi has all the best lines this season.

  • Binged The Bear on Disney

Brilliant best thing all year. Gave me PTSD from working in restaurants.

  • Agree, it’s fantastic
