Special yellow bands were stuck on the walls a few years ago in such a special way that they wouldn’t do damage when removed, I’d imagine someone was probably beheaded soon after removal. Yeh Carcassonne.

Stripes on the castle look great imo.
Thought they were deliberate and done with sandblasting.

These were the actual stripes, sure I read at the time they’d been applied in such a way as to do no damage when removed though clearly I’m no expert.
