  • Lime bikes: I finally had a go on one the other day and had been thinking of using them for short casual trips to save locking up my own bike. Also keen on the motor as am feeble with long COVID.

But at 21p / min plus £1 / trip, a 10 mins trip and back on a different bike was over £6. Which doesn't get you very far at all with stopping at red lights.

Anyone know if the rental fee/min varies? Lime are vague on this. Doesn't seem a very attractive prospect at current prices...

  • You can get a 24 hour pass which was at one point unlimited rides less than an hour, is currently (for me, anyway) 12o mins of riding. It costs somewhere between £8-12, seems to vary algorithmically. If I open the pass page, don't book one and open again the next day the offering has invariably improved in some respect (price or duration). It's still expensive, but if you're planning lots of short trips, or a long commute plus some lunchtime/apres dallying, it was work out pretty good.

  • This is why I don't use Lime (or the other electric bikes which seem to be a similar price). It just seems so expensive compared to options like the tube or bus.
