So the Hoka One One Speedgoats arrived, and were very quickly packaged up and sent back.
I'm a UK 11, measured more or less bang on. I would need to size up at least once in Hoka, so a UK 12.
Unfortunately, the width was still far too tight, and this was the 'wide' model of the speedgoat, so I'm not even going to bother with the next size up, and instead get money back.
I've settled on Nike Wildhorse 6. Mad looking trainer. They're an 8mm drop which is steeper than I'd like and they're not necessarily that wide fitting, but with 30% off ticketed price at a local Nike store, £55 was too good to pass up. So even if they do burst after 300km, it won't be too much of a loss.
My current Saucony Peregrine 12s are 330km in, only two months, bursting at the toes, and tread completely worn down, and they were £130, and lot less of shoe than what the peregrine 10s were.
Bring back the old Saucony xodus iso!
