  • If you’re on the road brighter =/= better. A super bright front mountain bike light is just as likely to get you hit as you dazzle oncoming drivers as you throw lumens all over the road and sky. It’s similar to being in a car and oncoming traffic not dipping their beams, terrible.

Get a proper light with a dipped beam so they the light goes on the road rather than into the sky. Exposure Strada (I think?) is their road specific version, or anything approved for use in Germany.

  • I had read about dazzle and thought - I'll just angle the light to the ground rather then straight on.....would this not work?

  • Better than nothing, but then why get a super powerful one if it’s all hitting your front wheel?

I also find that a really bright spot just in front of me causes me problems as my eyes adjust to that and I lose the edges where the light is les focussed. But that may just be me!

Find j need a lot less light when riding a properly shaped beam pattern. And it’s a lot less tiring.
