So the Hoka One One Speedgoats arrived, and were very quickly packaged up and sent back.
I'm a UK 11, measured more or less bang on. I would need to size up at least once in Hoka, so a UK 12.
Unfortunately, the width was still far too tight, and this was the 'wide' model of the speedgoat, so I'm not even going to bother with the next size up, and instead get money back.I've settled on Nike Wildhorse 6. Mad looking trainer. They're an 8mm drop which is steeper than I'd like and they're not necessarily that wide fitting, but with 30% off ticketed price at a local Nike store, £55 was too good to pass up. So even if they do burst after 300km, it won't be too much of a loss.
My current Saucony Peregrine 12s are 330km in, only two months, bursting at the toes, and tread completely worn down, and they were £130, and lot less of shoe than what the peregrine 10s were.
Bring back the old Saucony xodus iso!

Nice I like the wildhorse. Might give them ago also. The pegasus trails I have have solid plastic eye let's that don't flex and dig in your foot.those wildhorse have the flexi eyelets .

As a side note, I bought.a pair of these in Burgundy, gold and mint green (lol) in February and wore them walking around snowy streets for a few weeks. Was pretty surprised how grippy they were in compacted and icy snow so I stopped wearing them casually and only use them for trails now. Really quite like them.
