What chance is there that succession is ever challenged and avoided?
All this last week shows is that the establishment acts to continue without questions being given the chance to be aired.
Even if nothing changes a debate needs to be had about the continuation of the monarchy.
I am at an age where my contemporaries seem to be morphing into traditionalists and devoted forelock tuggers.
I hope that a younger generation takes power sooner
rather than later and that they make pension payments contingent on (at the very least) having a debate about some of the shit things in this country.
I suppose my point is, such debates can't wait for the 'right time'. When the right time comes, vested interest does what it always does.
