Yeah OK, i guess they've got a lot of unknowns to work with.
It's incredibly hard to distinguish between what's reasonable and what's excessive given the record of the met and city police, they often look the same (assuming this was actually proportionate and not just frothing pigs being rough out of habit)I wonder what the questioning was like before they released him.

I want some inline skates but they seem really impractical. Roads and pavement are too rough and carrying them is a chore given how chunky and heavy they are

Another thing, it also shows how idiotic some members of the public are. "The road was closed so I went down it" Maybe take one second to think why it might be closed, there's usually a good reason, but no, you go right ahead mate, I'm sure it doesn't apply to you
It really winds me up.

Spoken like a driver.
Mostly, in London, when a road is closed it often means...
Yes, car free space to ride walk and skate. -

When cycling in London when I see a road closed sign, 100% of the time I ride straight on by saying to myself, I'll be the judge of that. 99% of the time I get by just fine.

He actually said "the road was open"
I though he was just saying it looked clear to skate. -

I took my daughter (10) to a self defence/crisis session. One tactic while on the floor if the assailant was trying to pick them up was to hold onto the head and bend the neck to prevent easy carrying while calling for help. It's a pretty standard movement limiting tactic as far as I can tell for the reasons given by others.

Ooh no, I mean the jumpy grind ones. Like the Agressive Inline game I used to love.

• #77636
Yeah I mean, if its life threatening like that I'd encourage my daughter to give him a good poke in the eye as well

Don't know about anyone else but the main event for me next week will be the new Private Eye cover. How offensive do they dare?
I remember this one with fondness

A simple black page with "Woman Dies" might be going too far even for them. I wonder how many subscriptions they are prepared to lose!

SEG
The SEG have Glocks but they're not trained to ride and shoot at the same time. American police used to have a throttle lock on their Harleys for this purpose.

... nation invest in itself and develop its own interests rather than the interests of party donors...
Huh, not a sentiment I (living in Vienna) or many of my friends would share.
