Just had a flick through the book of condolence on the way out of the gym. Page after page of messages of gratitude and respect. Seems the queen is popular in these parts. It's the council gym and has a lot of older members...maybe that's the reason.

People just want to feel part of it, tell their friends they signed the book they imagine their King will read. Actually, what will be done with all these useless books afterwards?

It's unlikely we will ever know. There probably wasn't a post mortem, they aren't generally required when an old person dies, especially if they had recently seen a doctor who is happy to sign a death certificate.
