  • From a little search on Reddit it's definitely a problem when using the Apple adapter with Android.

    That's the nature of Android and USB DACs I'm afraid. iOS can take direct control of the volume of a USB DAC so you control the hardware output using the phones volume controls. With Android, the USB DAC has a fixed power output and all volume control is done in software, the USB DAC sets its power on connection. It appears that the default hardware power setting of the Apple dongle is less than 100% you can never get over that with Android unless you use an App that bypasses the Android USB Audio control. You could try UAPP, it works with most USB DACs and allows hardware level control.

  • Ahh thanks for that, so spend £7 on an app that might work and I need to run it every time I plug the headphones in.
