Full heads of state just did their 20 mins as well including the nonce

All this energy and effort. I keep thinking that there must be a great number of these people who couldn't be arsed to vote or consider for ten minutes what they were voting for during the EU referendum or elections, when they could have prevented change that has had a far more damaging effect than the Queen's death ever will.

I keep thinking
It's not worth it mate.

I've been in buck house to do some work. It was in The Grand Ballroom with its 4m high ceiling and massive chandeliers. While that is very impressive, behind the scenes it is quite shabby. Like a hospital or some government institution from the 60s or 70s.

But the sheeple of the queue don't need to think. The decisions are made for them.

Could they not have stuck the coffin with a flag over it on a carnival float with a few vigil-ers (vigilantes?) and driven around London's famous London?. Then everyone who wants to see her could line the streets and genuflect/bow/scrape/cry/gnash their teeth or whatever else they want to do as she goes past, but it could all be done in a day
-
• #3533
They are doing that on Monday. Westminster Abbey to Windsor by road, avoiding the motorway so people can line the route. 20 odd miles.

She used the death of QE2 to market her LLL?! Cancelled.
-
• #3537
I'd say she's played a blinder, the number of LLL types hitting that thread must be huge. Cost of living ain't going down n'all that.

Love the post where they're finally on the right side of the river, and then the following one.
Respect for the author tho, enduring (and apparently enjoying) it all just for her daft mum. Not sure I'd have done likewise.

She did it to sell greetings cards. Her mum should be ashamed.

• #3540
It's what she would've wanted...

Sounds like he's got his priorities reeky straight.

She makes it all sound quite nice.
I guess part of the psychology is similar to climbing /cycling a famous mountain.

There was a prof on the radio who’s been polling the people in the queue. Majority Remainers. Was also saying they aren’t all insane right wingers.

When queuing becomes an extreme sport:

Statistically this was very likely to happen

Seems a bit keen to arrest him. He just needs kicking out.

Sounds like he's got his priorities reeky straight.
He's a corporate lawyer who owns a machine learning company in the US and has a problen with a neural network...its not as if he can do much to solve the problem himself other than coordinate from his phone.
Regardless, you are correct. I'm pretty sure he'd have more valuable uses for his time than standing in a queue for 12+ hours.

No doubt that it's a cross section of people, covering all political standpoints as well as multiple nationalities. I'm of the opinion that individuals should grieve how they see fit, but I just can't comprehend the dedication applied to this self serving activity. When could we ever recreate this energy of the public to put it to good use? The psychology of the queue people is fascinating.

We should have gone full bread and circuses, and turned The Queue™ into a Battle Royale, with the grand prize being the chance to lie in state with queenie, and accompany her on her final journey to defeat the boss in Valhalla. Or something.

fair play to the queue not sure i could stand for 24hrs straight for whatever reason
stoical
Not that urgent then
