Actually, thinking about it. I don't really have a genuine need for a new phone, it would just be a "nice to have". Current one works fine and battery isn't terrible (I spend most of my day with it plugged in anyway).
In November I stop paying for it and it currently has 82% battery health. If that dips below 80% in the next two months or so I can get a replacement battery/phone thanks to AppleCare+ (that will run out mid-Nov) - although the logistics of that are a bit of a PITA.
That should tie me over for another 18-24 months, and then I can look at what is available.
The bigger screen is just for a few things, and a second hand iPad mini might solve that, but still isn't necessary.

had my 12 mini since release day.. im regularly on 60-70% after getting up at 8am and getting to work at 9.45.
I can easily be on 15% by the time I leave the office at 5.30.
In summary, I have to charge my phone at some point in the afternoon

is the 14 that much of an upgrade over the 13?
My XS is starting to creak, more the battery life then anything else. I could probably get a good price on a 13 handset only somewhere when the 14 comes out. -

Looks like the screen, ie always on + that island thing, will be a nice upgrade. 48mp camera is neat too if you're in to photography.
I'm keeping my 13pro for another year though

Fair. Mine has been rock solid, but I don't have dense, dense forests in SoCal like you do in NH... Have never had a message send failure with my InReach Mini.

Knog Scout is in stock (£50 airtag replacement with a siren, works with the Find My network)
https://www.silverfish-uk.com/products/KNOG12998_Knog-Scout-Bike-Alarm-amp-FinderIn other news, preordered a 14 Pro last week. 12 Pro will be passed on, iPhone XS (512gb with a 70something% battery) will be sold (probably). Apple wants 70 quid for battery service so I think we'll just sell it as-is.

My iPhone can't connect to mobile data (in Israel), I've spoken with EE who said that all data roaming settings are correct and there's no reason for me to not be able to connect from that perspective.
They did say that the error I'm getting would be resolved by a reset of the network settings - which I did but didn't work.
This is the message I'm getting:

..so to install the new watchOS 9 on an apple watch you need iOS 16, which in turn needs an iPhone 8 or later.
I want to gift an apple watch to somebody who still has an older iPhone.
If I now buy a new apple watch (which will have watchOS 9 installed on it already I suppose), or if I buy a used one that (likely) will have been updated with watchOS 9 by the previous owner, will the person be able to use the watch with their old iPhone? -

I have an older iPad Air 2 - I have downloaded a couple fonts I want to install. How?
When I go Settings> General> Fonts it says "No Fonts Installed. You can download apps that install fonts from the App Store"Is there really no built-in font manager? When I go to app store I don't see anything obvious. Some say "keyboard fonts". What app should I be using? Thanks.

I want to upgrade my iphone SE 1st gen as the battery is shite now. I'd quite like to be able to record semi decent video. Whats model should I look at with a budget of £200-250 for a second hand unlocked handset, preferably with 128gb storage. Is this unrealistic? I was just going to get a 2nd gen SE, but with the desire to shoot better video I wondered if this was a poor choice (as people seem to say the camera is the main sacrifice with getting an SE).
Or do I just double my budget and save for an 11 Pro?

12 mini!
Says the guy that still has a 2016SE.... -
• #19622
12 mini unless you really care about the camera enough to get an 11 Pro

And the next question is where to buy a second hand iPhone? I was just gonna use CEX, second hand phones on eBay is always totally hit and miss.

How much would you want for it?
Battery in my XS is starting to degrade to point of unusability and I've been thinking about trading it in for a refurb 12 Mini, would work out to about €210 for the upgrade vs €80 (?) for having the battery replaced. But maybe that's not a great idea then.
