It's just how inused to to do it so familure to me. Is the A to D route accessible on a budget. Another reason why I was going second hand mini disc. Seen them f0r 30quid.

Do you want your recordings on a physical format? If not, then recording via a a/d converter and a computer/tablet/phone is the way to go.
If yes, then minidisc, it's a fun format that still sounds great. I'm more than happy with the sound quality out of my Sony MZ-N510 and a pair of £20 Moondrop Chu Chinese IEMs, and my Sony MDS-JE480 deck. With the advent of WebMD Net MD is actually easy to use now too.
