Sounds like a solid plan.
I've been commuting (16km round trip) with flat bars since May, and I'm not even sure I want to go back to drops on my other bikes.
I really enjoy the Ritchey Kyote bars. -

+1 for bars angled down
+100000 for Ergon GP1 grips. With a 25-35 degree backsweep bar, they are imo the most comfortable cockpit possible. I've moved away from drops entirely after trying them. -

hmmm. after 40k of commuting today, my fingers were deffo less tingly with the bars flat so thanks to those who offered the advice.
the thing is, I kind of realised after today that I really prefer drop bars. I've been riding my sscx with drops to work for the last few weeks and really enjoying it, so I guess I'll be changing the Kepler back again soon. -

I've always followed the Jones advice re: swept handlebars and always tilted my down (with ergo grips level/horizontal). Appreciate everyone's different but this has worked great for me...

It's incredibly satisfying to have a bike that's so, functional.
Just swapped a few bits for a ride in Epping tomorrow vs earlier this month touring through France.

I rode a 2/3 thousand km on mine before they started to pick up flats...so as long as they are new ish he should be fine !

the future me can go fuck himself, what's he ever done for me?
@MisterMikkel i've set them up dead flat for the commute this morning, if that's not comfy I'll try rolling them back a bit for tomorrow.
