Protester charged. Wtf?

Maybe the FUCK on the sign was the problem. Lots of families with youngsters, I don't know. Could be seen a breach of peace though not illegal to swear

I think the law in Scotland is different on that point
Edit: it can be considered a beach of the peace under s.38 of the Criminal Justice and Licensing (Scotland) Act 2010

Scotland has some weird laws about that (I think it came up when people were protesting about Trump at his golf course), I suspect that is what will end up being the reason given.

I guess that's why we haven't seen Rab C for a while, he's been locked up?

Just went to Parliament Square & held up a blank piece of paper. Officer came & asked for my details. He confirmed that if I wrote βNot My Kingβ on it, he would arrest me under the Public Order Act because someone might be offended.

on BBC Radio 4 Broadcasting House yesterday Paddy said βwe do Pagentry very well. We do Hypocrisy very well tooβ.
BH is the only bearable coverage on R4 at the moment. And in terms of frequency the news once a week is about right too. Every time I turn the news on at the moment it's someone blabbering about how wonderful ERII was.

I don't understand why a charity to support professional footballers - surely the single most overpaid group of workers on the planet - would need to sell a work of art to raise funds.

I don't understand why a charity to support professional footballers
Because for every 1 premier league footballer earning millions, there are hundreds of:
- Kids who skipped their education to try to become footballers who didn't make the mark.
- Footballers earning Β£15k per year who didn't learn a trade or go to school and coming close to retirement.
- Young kids with no education or trade who nearly made it but had a career ending injury
-Low earning pro footballer who retires and struggles with serious mental health issues. - Low earning pro footballers needing support for drink, drug and gambling problems
-
Its a brutal profession that takes a huge toll on the body and only a tiny percentage of players ever make decent money from it.
Edit: Its also a trade union that helps support the more vulnerable non big earners trying to make a career in football, and helps those people prepare for retiring in their 20s or 30s (i.e helping them learn a trade or go to university etc).

I didnt realise this but they also are behind a lot of the pay/conditions progress that women's football has seen in recent years.
