  • Is this the 79190, or the previous 79090?? Cant remember what they changed exactly, think acrylic to sapphire crystal and the lume?? The newer version looks so nice and metallic blue, is amazing. Older versions obviously more faded but still very nice.

  • Solid price - glws. I'm on the hunt for a small(er) speedy - 38 / FOIS / sub-40 variant at the moment. Give me a shout if anyone looking to offload

  • a speedmaster reduced? i have one i'd let go of.... does need a service though @coffeekeyboard

also if anyone could recommend somewhere I could get such a watch serviced for a good price i would appreciate it. it still keeps time but one of the sub dials doesn't return to 0 after resetting the chrono

  • Interesting, cheers

  • can anyone recommend a good quality two piece perlon strap? I'm after light blue/grey 18mm - cheers in advance!

  • Thanks - but looking for a working one out of box

  • Just tried the smaller Longines Spirit on and I think they've done an excellent job with it. Fit was great, stays close to the wrist. Enough contrast in the dial so it's not too flat, I find sometimes that silver dials can blend in too much with the rest of the case but this looked really good. Initially thought the date window looked a bit big for the dial when on display but when trying on it didn't appear too large. I'd also say I found it more like a 36mm because of the chapter ring rather than the flat dial running right to the edge.

The only thing I didn't really like is the branding on the clasp. The bracelet was nice, smooth, good weight but they've slapped a huge written Longines logo running all the way along the clasp and it kills the refinement. Would have been way better to have just the 'winged logo' much smaller on there.

  • That looks good. Case looks nice and sharp.

  • Dial looks less "champagne" than other pics I've seen, but why is it the only version without a red second hand?

    I see there's now a 42mm Ti version, fingers crossed for a 37mm...

  • The amount of people that wear watches below the wrist bone is distressing

  • It's a pretty natural way to wear a watch that's not been sized to your wrist.

  • Sorry man, what tends to happen with super skinny wrists. The bracelet also wasn't fitted as just trying on.

  • 37mm champagne dial:

No red second hand and date window is not great.

  • Sorry, I don't follow?

    That's the watch posted upthread.

  • Ignore, I misread on account of being quite drunk. You meant fingers crossed for a 37mm Ti version?

  • Sorry man, what tends to happen with super skinny wrists. The bracelet also wasn't fitted as just trying on.

Edit: Was on the train, apologies for the double post.

  • Ha! and yes.

You can't be that pissed, no SP in your post. :)

  • I'm trying! Tanzanian beer is pretty week though so it might take a while to get properly hammered.

Holiday watch: Garmin 945, no pic as not that exciting and its the other side of the room and I've got my feet up; waiting for a doctor to come by and sort out the two toes I sliced open earlier on some coral or maybe razor clam after I crashed kitesurfing #csb

  • It was, It's very nicely done. Great mixture of polished and brushed sections both for the case and bracelet, not too dress looking, not too tool looking.

  • I really like that it doesn't have the red seconds hand personally as I'm not drawn too much to red on watches. (Apart from an amazing burgundy IWC I saw recently.) I do wish the diamond on the second hand was further back though as I think this would give better balance but I get that it's there to align with the diamond markers on the dial.

  • Exact, acrylic to saphir for sure, I think latest 79090 are Luminova but not sure, service dial are..

Also a steel bezel variant with WG markers was offered at the very end (after 95 I think)

I think 79090 are more charming IMO

  • Tried on a 76100 this summer, nice watch, love the lollipop hour hand, unfortunately this one was black, and a bit expensive

  • That a much nicer sizes. It also look weirdly chunky.

  • 79090 steel bezel is lush

  • I really like those.
I think Longines are really on form at the moment.
