  • This does seem nuts but I can't help but feel that it's probably lead by centreparcs staff saying they want a day off and they can't force them to come in at a time of national grieving.

  • Sure but the way it's being handled...

20% of holiday cut but 30% refund so effectively only 10% discount. No early check-in on the Tuesday so I can't get into our accommodation until 4pm (!). No late checkout on the Friday to accommodate for lost time. No refunds on activities booked, just rearrange which doesn't work with 20% less time.

They'd also already communicated that it would be open.

I'm in an ok spot as it's only an hour by car but some people are saying they've got trains booked or flights with relatives coming in etc. Madness to ask people staying either side of the day to fuck off then come back. It's not like there's anything open for them to go and do for 24 hours.

Bivvy bag & great outdoors, just don't move in the open whilst the funeral is ongoing, unless ghillie suited up obvs.

  • Agreed, does seem like madness. Guess they're basically making it up as they go along. Imagine complaint to management may get you a better offer.
