I need a motor if I'm lugging about 2 kids, bags, bit of shopping and I'm late.

What's the max load of it I wonder? Looks like it would snap in half pretty easy!

Seattube looks very bakfiets one size fits all.
Doubtful it's as "manoeverable" as a Roadbike. -

The Maniac – which does not have a motor – incorporates a Gates Carbon belt-drive drivetrain, a 14-speed Rohloff Speedhub rear hub gearbox, a rigid carbon fiber fork, and a 620 x 400-mm (24.4 x 15.7-in) cargo bed that can accommodate a maximum load of 80 kg (176 lb). The bike can manage a combined rider/cargo load of 200 kg (441 lb), and reportedly tips the scales at 12.8 kg (28 lb).

it says rohloff hub but then it shows this:
maybe 12.8kg is for the single speed version..

Single speed cargo bike....oh my knees

Torsional rigidity of a wet newspaper? Cool for delivering boxes of flowers or other similar high volume/low weight items, so not useless, just not for getting home that sweet 3 seat sofa you found by the side of the road. There is no one 'cargo bike' that does all things well, its not possible, that might be something for the low end of the duty/load scale though. UrbanArrow tender for the big stuff.

Nice Vince. Now that's one expensive jigsaw! :) Look forward to seeing it completed.

You can even use if for cyclocross. Although I wonder how much people will actually be able to lift a 17.6+ kg bike this way. -
• #9988
Not me. I almost gave myself a hernia lifting my omnium earlier.
I am strongly considering buying one of these bikes though. They look great.
I'd be happier with a bit more cargo space though

I've enquired about getting an iumentum in the UK. I reckon I will buy one. Price is good for a frameset.
I reckon that if worse comes to worse and they don't ship to the UK, I could fly there, build it and ride home for less than shipping would cost.

More common than you think to ride cargo's back to the UK!

I don't doubt it

EP8 vs 6100 for an eBullitt - what's the consensus here?
Thinking of getting one on the bike to work scheme.
-
• #9993
Depends what you want to use it for? I tried both and I thought the EP8 was too much but mine's for carrying kids, if I was carting around heavy loads for a living I'd go EP8.
-
• #9994
Both kids and then also 12v speakers with potential upgrade to much heavier gear at a later point, ticking close to the 100kg load limit.
-
• #9995
I think you should have a test ride, it's difficult to properly explain the difference but with the EP8 I barely touched the pedals and it took off like a shot, the 6100 felt much more like riding a normal bike by comparison.
-
• #9996
Thought you can control the amount of assistance?
If I was going to be carrying near (or above) the load limit and had any hills to tackle I’d like to have as much torque available as possible!
-
• #9997
You can but each has more torque than the comparable settings on the 6100. Like I said, if I was carting around massive loads on the regular then I'd probably opt for the 8 but if kiddie carrying is the main use then the 6100 is more than enough, plus there's a pretty big jump in price to the 8.

I am looking to swap a cargo bike for a gravel bike. Apologies for the cross post, but it is within lfgss... here is the post I'd already posted when someone messaged me and said to pop the link here.https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/379739/Taking off lfgss and posting to ebay as no offers

Lol at a motor encouraging an out of the saddle riding style. What a load of drivel.
I have a Bosch performance cx motor. It's a beast. But put it in eco mode and it's chill, just there helping a bit.
I'd be going for the strongest motor i could if I lived anywhere but somewhere flat or carried light loads only or couldn't afford ep8.
You can get boxes to go under the seat on a UA
