  • Absolutely EPIC.

Anyone doing it this year? I'm pretty sure I'm going for it. Need to get myself a gravel / adventure bike first though!

  • Good luck!
I'd love to do it. And/or Terra Australis. The only things I'd do on a bike in Australia.
If you've not found them yet, there are some great podcasts on the Curve site with Sarah and other riders talking about their rides in previous versions. I've found them to be the best turbo listening material.
One guy tried it single speed last year but I don't think anyone has done it fixed yet...!

    Race to (near) the Rock:

We have just learned that Meerenie Loop permits are not being issued to bike riders. For this reason, the Meerenie Loop Option is NO LONGER AVAILABLE.
Due to current conditions, we do not wish to force riders to use the extremely difficult Finke Gorge NP Option. Other options between Alice Springs and Yulara are considered too dangerous to include in Race to the Rock. For this reason, we are changing the finish location to Alice Springs.
Riders may continue if they wish but it will not be on us.

9 days, 4 hours, and 34 minutes after rolling out from The Rocks, Erinn Klein arrived in the centre of Adelaide to win the 2022 edition of the race he won back in 2020. He napped briefly at Charleston in the early hours of the morning, knowing he had at least 2 hours lead on 2nd place. He was greeted by a small welcoming party including his family in Victoria Square, many watching live on Facebook.

Dot Watcher favorite Sacha "the Smasher" arrived 4 hours lately, completing her longest and toughest race ever, seemingly allergic to sleep throughout the race as she slept very little each night.

Just under an hour later 3rd place David Langley pulled in, making a final galant but unsuccessfuly push to catch Sacha.

A huge congratulations to all the finishers so far!

Out on course, Callum and Sier are making their way through the Barossa, Justin rejoined the route at Mildura, while Michael, Eric, Lucas, and Damien (UltraCyclingLife) all traverse the agreed upon detour across the Hay Plains and on to Mildura.
